Product Overview
There are several situations where arm rests are extremely beneficial and the best option ergonomically, but there are also situations where you’d be better off without them. In general, if your option is between office chairs without arm rests and office chairs with arm rests that can’t be adjusted, you should go for the office chairs without armrests. With a properly positioned desk, your forearms will still receive support from the desk. When arm rests on desk chairs are not adjustable, they’re not going to fit everyone, which will force you to work in some uncomfortable or unhealthy positions.
The key to using arm rests is to position them correctly - they should be positioned at your natural elbow position. When you sit, your armrests will be just under your elbows when your hands are in your lap. Even if the position is good, arm rests should be used intermittently and not all the time. They’re for brief periods of rest.
Most of the ergonomic office chair series we supply use slightly different models of armrests. See the options above in the drop down menu. If you do not see your chair model listed, please contact our team on 0800 667 2273 to discuss options.
