Ergonomic Office Solutions--Occupational Overuse Syndrome (OOS)
The term Occupational Overuse Syndrome (OOS) is now being used in place of the term Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI). The reason is that while most people have been aware of the term RSI, few realise to what it refers. This group of medical conditions received wide media attention in Australia and New Zealand in the 1980’s which followed the increasing use of keyboards with the spread of personal computer and word processing technology. The result was that, in the public mind, the term RSI became inextricably linked to Keyboard operators, even though it is also found in other occupational groups. The compilers believe that Occupational Overuse Syndrome (OOS) more accurately reflects the types of medical conditions found.

Ergonomic Office Solutions--Vertical Mice.
To reduce strain while mousing we recommend you use a VERTICAL mouse. A true VERTICAL mouse provides good pronation by forcing your forearm bones into a more parallel position.
Pronation is the vertical angle of the wrist from the horizontal. Also called vertical tenting.
An angle changes from horizontal to vertical when it passes through 45°. Therefore by definition a vertical mouse must provide a pronation of at least 45°.
Ooscare Ergonomics offers 13 different brands of ergonomic mice which total 52 models (right and left hand, wired and wireless and bluetooth).
Of these we classify 7 brands meet the definition of VERTICAL Mouse. The 7 Vertical brands have 27 models to choose from.

What is ergonomics?
Our ergonomics definition is that it is the science of adapting the job and/or the equipment and the human to each other for optimal safety and productivity.
In the office environment, there are various areas, listed in categories on the left hand side of the screen, that must be addressed in order to ensure the health and wellbeing of office workers. We recommend reading through this information to better understand good ergonomic practices in the workplace.
